fully trained dogs for sale dallas tx ๏ปฟAppropriate Age of Golden Retriever Puppy โ€“ Deciding when to get the pup

Golden retriever puppy is almost irresistible. dog lovers can find it very hard to resist seeing a golden retriever pup in front of them. However, there is a valid reason why you should not be very eager to take home a golden retriever puppy if he is not yet at the right age. Like any other animals, there is a specific time for goldens to be separated from their mothers. Newly born retriever pups needs some time to be with their mother to grow and mature. Separating a golden retriever puppy from its mother at a very young age can have devastating effect. Ideally, a golden retriever puppy must be at least 3 months old before you buy it from golden retriever puppy breeders and the reason for this is listed below.

Health Concerns A mother's milk is very essential for a golden retriever puppy to go strong and healthy. Golden retrievers are very vulnerable, thus, golden pups needs the antibodies in their mother's milk. The immune system of a young golden retriever is not yet fully developed; therefore, they need to get antibodies from their mother's milk to ward of different germs and bacteria. Another thing is, very young retrievers cannot handle immunization shots, thus, the moment they get exposed to harmful organism, there is a very high chance that they will succumb to infection. A three month old retriever already has his immune system fully developed, plus he is now ready to receive his vaccines giving him more protection from harmful germs and viruses. Another thing is, three months old retriever pups have higher chances of survival.

Mental Development Golden retriever's mental developments are influenced by their mother and siblings. By staying longer with their mother, retriever puppies learn proper behavior for dogs and they will be able to feel how it is like to live with a family. According to studies, golden retrievers will grow to be shy and fearful if they are taken away from their mothers before they even reach three months old. On the other hand, those puppies who were given sufficient time to bond with their mothers will grow up to be friendly and playful adult retriever.

Another advantage of taking home a retriever puppy at the right age is that, they can be fed easily. Three month old retrievers can start eating solid food, provided that you soften it with hot water before feeding. On the other hand, if you will get a very young golden retriever, you will have to feed the puppy with milk. This means another added cost because this may mean that you will have to buy milk formulas and other paraphernalia for milk feeding.

In general, before you decide to take home a golden retriever puppy, see to it that you are financially, emotionally, and psychologically prepared for the greater responsibilities associated with raising a golden retriever puppy. Remember that these puppies can be very playful. They are very curious and they can munch on everything that they see. Therefore, you should be very careful with your belongings if you do not want them to be the subject of your golden's curious mouth.

dog training dallas tx area ๏ปฟAnytime a dog is acting aggressive; there is a reason for it. Aggression in dogs happens because of genetics, environment and training methods. There is always a trigger for aggressive behavior. One of the first steps a professional dog trainer or behaviorist will do when dealing with an aggressive dog is find out what is triggering the aggression. There can be many reasons for this. Treating aggression consists of four steps. The first step is getting a through vet check. We need to rule out any physical problems before we can start any behavior program. The second step consists of safety and management. The third and step involves developing a positive relationship and structure. And the last step deals with treating and changing the dog’s aggressive response. In order for the program to be effective each part of the program must be followed.

1. Aggression is often described as a snowball going downhill. It starts very small and insignificant and quickly becomes huge and intimidating. It is very important that we try to limit the number of aggressive incidents that occur. Limit access to anything that triggers the aggression. Some other important points to remember are:

Walk the dog on a gentle leader

Muzzle before vets, groomers, etc.

Keep the dog kenneled or in a crate when unsupervised

Try to walk the dog in areas or at times when you are unlikely to come into contact with other dogs.

Remember good management skills are very important for any dog owner, but it is especially important for owners with aggressive dogs.

2. Positive relationship and structure: A dog is a pack animal, which is one reason they make such good pets because they respond to a social structure. In the wild, the pack is very loosely organized, but there is always a pack leader. In order for the pack to survive there needs to be structure. A dog living in a domestic situation needs to understand that its human pack members are at the top of the social scale. We need to be strong leaders in the dog’s eyes; otherwise the dog will develop unwanted behaviors. A dog does not have to be physically punished in order to learn that we are the pack leaders. A more desirable way to establish our position is to control what is important to the dog.

Games

Eating

Grooming

Social contact

Obedience

As you structure the relationship, it is also important to provide your dog with some mental and physical stimulation. A dog needs exercise and a change of scenery once in a while (walks at the beach, in the woods, going to parks are all good and necessary things for your dog.) Another good thing to do for your dog is to put him on a quality diet. Nutrition has a direct effect on your dog’s behavior.

3. Treating the aggression: Treating the aggression is a gradual process and should be done with a professional trainer. The aggressive response needs to be dealt with. Using harsh physical methods to deal with aggression can backfire. Putting a choke collar and trying to “correct” the aggressive behavior with a leash correction can make the behavior worse.

Conclusion

If your dog is showing signs of aggressive behavior please contact an experienced professional dog trainer or behaviorist. Aggressive behavior can be very dangerous and needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.

That training would make them learn the way to conduct themselves in certain situations that they will probably deal with at some point in their day-to-day lives. But unfortunately, some dog owners either can't pay for obedience lessons or determine they can get it done themselves instead. So, this is the concise explanation related to what you might attain from that program to assist you to assess if your dog could reap the benefits of it.

The Key Benefits Of Canine Behavior Instruction

First off, puppies in obedience coaching easily understand how to listen to precise, properly delivered instructions. This also suggests you will learn the best ways to give those instructions. Lots of people ignore their part of the deal in pet ownership. They believe that the obligation lies in their puppy, but not themselves. Look at dog training to be a 2 way route and it would be far more effective. Listed here are quite a few illustrations.

Leadership - During programs, you are going to master how to declare your alpha role over your canine to show them that you are the leader without exception and that they ought to listen to your commands. If these types of behavioral patterns are replicated in your residence, your canine can have a much simpler time listening to your commands. Alpha dog leadership stands out as the building block of each and every one high-quality training.

No Gnawing or Barking - Two of the biggest problems that a doggy could have are usually biting and barking. Multiple levels of doggy programs can easily address these specified patterns and be sure your puppy will not misbehave. Biting specifically will have to be managed in the budding age.

Going for a walk - Frustrated by having your doggy pull you down the street? dog training classes dallas tx

dog training classes dallas tx ๏ปฟMy wife used to joke about my 8 year old German Shepherd ("Toby") as she stated that she wanted to go and get him a nose job. This past year, his nose started to get extremely dry and the skin actually started to peel. Being the bad pet owner that I am, I just thought it was due to the weather and kept on as normal. I figured if it was something that was hurting him he would show signs of pain or discomfort and I would get it checked out. My wife's joke became common and we went on with our lives as normal.

A few months ago, I received a telephone call from my wife. She stated that Toby's nose appeared to be extremely irritated, that it seemed to be causing him discomfort, and that she believed that he had Lupus. I was very attentive to her until she said "Lupus" at which point I began to laugh hysterically. Not that Lupus is funny as it is not. It is a serious autoimmune disease that inflicts approximately 5 million people worldwide. The reason for the laughter is because of HouseMD. This is one of our favorite television shows (and those of you who watch it will understand) and the most common diagnosis (when the doctors on the show cannot think of anything else) is Lupus. It has become a trade mark of the television show and a "House MD Lupus" montage can even be found on YouTube. I just naturally thought that my wife was joking. However, she wasn't.

After I stopped laughing, my wife told me to look it up on Google. I type in the search "lupus in dogs" and went to "Google images" (do it yourself and see what I saw). The enormous amount of images that returned was mainly German Shepherds with noses exactly like Toby. My laughing quickly turned to concern as without an actual diagnosis, I was instantly convinced that my dog had Lupus.

There are many symptoms of Lupus in dogs; however, here are a few of the most common (obtained from Petwave.com).

* Depigmentation (paleness) of the skin on the bridge of the nose

* Skin redness (erythema), especially on the bridge of the nose, face and lips

* Skin scaling and flaking, especially on the bridge of the nose, face and lips

* Skin erosions (sores), especially on the bridge of the nose, face and lips

* Skin ulcerations, especially on the bridge of the nose, face and lips

* Skin crusting, especially on the bridge of the nose, face and lips

* Scarring, especially on the bridge of the nose, face and lips

* Pain at affected areas

* Itchiness (pruritis), may or may not be present

* Scratching at affected areas (variable)

* Secondary bacterial infections (pyoderma)

After spending approximately $400 at the veterinarian (OUCH!!!), I was given some medicine that I was to apply to his nose on a daily basis. This was done for the 1st couple of days however there did not appear to be an improvement. As we were told by the veterinarian that the dog would be fine as long as we kept him out of the sun, we believed that this was the only thing we could do as the medicine did not appear to be working.

A couple of weeks ago, my wife was in the bathroom with a tube of Aquaphor in her hand. The dog came in at that time and my wife decided to jokingly apply some to his nose. Hey, Aquaphor got us through the 1st 4 years of our daughter's life so why wouldn't it work on the dog's nose? This was just about as funny as when she first told me he had Lupus. The next day, to both of our disbelief, the nose of the dog looked almost completely healed. It was black, wet, and there was little sign of peeling or irritation. This has now become a ritual that we do every couple of days and his nose looks normal.

Throughout this whole situation, I learned some important things. The first is that dogs can get Lupus. The second is that sometimes there are inexpensive ways to take care of expensive problems. And finallyโ€ฆโ€ฆalways listen to your wife (she is right most of the time).

in home dog training in dallas tx wynnewood ๏ปฟThe Ocicat is one of the most magnificent spotted cat breeds that has the capability to steal any show not only with shear beauty but brains as well.

The Ocicat is considered to be an agouti spotted cat and is said to have originated due to inter-breeding of the Siamese, Abyssinian, and American Shorthair.

The body, head and spotted coat should be similar in appearance to that of a wild cat and the Ocicat moves in a natural fluid manner, often keeping low to the ground as if stalking his prey. The Ocicat has a well-muscled, long body with an equally, proportioned long tail. Of all the cat breeds, the Ocicat is the only cat that has spots on her, the kind of spots that you will find on a leopard and other wild cats. The usual Ocicat cat breeds are large cats that have an athletic physical appearance and are quite active pets. If you keep an Ocicat as a pet then you will have to feed him a high nutrient cat food regularly so that it helps in her overall growth and provides her with the strength and agility Ocicats are known for.

The Ocicat is one if the new cat breeds as they were born due to an experimental breeding that took place in 1964. The main aim of the experiment was to produce a different breed of Siamese cats. To the surprise of breeders the result of the experiment was a beautiful and cute ivory kitten that had golden spots. The name Ocicat came into existence because of her stark resemblance to an ocelot. The name of the first Ocicat was Tonga and since then there have been more inter-breeding experiments to get the Ocicats.

Although the Ocicat looks almost like a wild cat, she has a fine temperament and is everything else except being ferocious and hence famous as one of the best cat breeds. The Ocicat can be easily compared to a dog as far as certain temperaments and habits are concerned and the best of all is that she is devoted and loyal pet. One of the best traits that defines the Ocicat as well as separates her from other cat breeds is that she is not demanding but at the same time extremely confident as well as loyal to her owners. Most of the Ocicats make great pets and due to their extrovert nature they don't feel uncomfortable around strangers. One of the things she would love to do is curl up on your lap and stay there.

Another great trait of Ocicats is that they are highly intelligent animal and hence can easily be trained. You can train your Ocicat to fetch and can even take her for a walk at the neighborhood park on leash. They can respond very well to voice commands and can fit in with ease to almost all household environments. Like some of the other cat breeds, Ocicats come in a variety of colors like chocolate, tawny, cinnamon, lavender, blue, fawn, chocolate silver, silver, cinnamon silver, lavender silver, blue silver, and fawn silver.

One of the important things that you need to remember about Ocicats is that they need high amount of proteins and vitamins in cat food to pump up their energy level, for when there running and playing, to make their bones stronger and to sport their trademark muscular look.
